Hi guys, tell us when you formed MASTERDOM?
MasterdoM band was born in 2005. At the beginning, sincerely, it started as simply fun...then, step by step, it became a fantastic adventure that lasts for ten years
What is the genre of your sound?
At the beginning we use to play Power Metal, over time the sound became classic heavy metal....almost symphonic because teh keyboards.
A further change happened two years ago when keyboard player left. We decided to continue without symphonic parts and our sound, now, is harder and scratchy.
What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics? Who writes them?
Each members wrote at least one text. Anyway Simone drummer has written more.
There's not a proper inspiration to write, is something that comes from inside. Thoughts and moods mixed together.
Do you think that English is the universal language now?
For sure English is appropriate language even if we appreciate bands who sing their own language, as Tierra Santa Mago De Oz in spanish, Terasbetoni in finnish and X-Japan in japanese.
We too have two songs in italian (our language): 'serial killer'(our own song) and 'el diablo' (Litfiba Cover).
What are the reasons by which you decide to give your band the name MASTERDOM?
Search the name isn' t been easy. Thomas (guitar) found it. MasterdoM refers at words 'lordship', 'mastery', 'domain'...............MasterdoM word is also present in Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Your album "Schizophrenia" will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations?
Our label is doing a great job. Our release is advertised on social network, specialized web site, itunes, google play, deezer, spotify, ecc...
Band visibility is growing, new fans are coming and we are glad of that.
How did you decide to sign the record deal with Mirko DeFox's HEART OF STEEL RECORDS?
We had several proposals but we chose De Fox's one. It seemed the best to start.
To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
We had several proposals (also from abroad) and we're evaluating them. For sure we will organize a promotional tour.
Have you played in some important festivals?
Yes we joined several festivals. We would like to remember some band we played with: Thank, White Skull, Dark Quarterer, ecc......
I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's caused by the internet? technological development?
or it's changed the mentality of the fans?
Inevitably Internet coming has determined sales drop. More bands look at digital store. Although there are nostalgics that want to sniff booklet smell of the just opened disc....
You're certainly not a international mainstream, pop band, how do you judge the underground music scene?
Heavy metal sound maybe is second place to commercial music. Anyway a lot of people loves metal music and follow bands concerts. "underskin music" is more alive than ever! :-)
Tell us a few funny anecdotes, in the past?
A funny story happened in 2011, when we cancel a concert because unpaid bills! there was no electricity!
