1. Hi guys, tell us when you formed your group?
Our band was formed in 1979.
2. What is the genre of your sound?
We are melodic/progressive metal band.
3. What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics? Who writes them?
All lyrics were written by lead vocalist of SBS Vitalis Kairiukstis. Themes of the lyrics – the thin line between black and white, evil and divine, good and bad with spicy addition of love and mysticism, mystery and one more time mystery !!!
4. Do you think that English is the universal language now?
Yes, sure.
5. What are the reasons by which you decide to give your band the name "S.B.S. (Spicy bits of Scandal)"?
The band name was SBS already when I joined the band. In my opinion – hard, energetic, strong, sexy, spicy music!!!
6. Your album titled "Heaven can wait" will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations?
This album was highly rated by the international media, we got very warm graduation from Progressive Rock and Progressiv Metal, international zines gave us:
Stormbringer: 4,5/5, Metal To Infinity: 83/100, Metal Temple: 8/10, HardHarderHeavy: 6,5/7 and Stormbringer wrote very simple – “An der Schnittmenge aus melodischem Heavy Metal und Progressive Symphonic Metal habe ich in letzter Zeit jedenfalls nichts besseres gehört“. My expectations? Next album and concerts at Madison Square Garden and Budokan.
7. How did you decide to sign the digital record deal with Mirko DeFox's HEART OF STEEL RECORDS in Europe?
The company Heart of Steel was recommended to me by my friend from Israel, Lior Shamir, Editor in Chief of Metal Temple and Metal express radio.
8. To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
Yes, we had presentation of our new album “Heaven can wait…” in Broadway music club in Vilnius, Lithuania and we are going to play some shows in another Lithuania’s cities.
9. Have you played in some important festivals?
In 2010 we played in international festival in Torgau, Germany, it was very cool!!!
10. I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's caused by the internet? technological development?
or it's changed the mentality of the fans?
I’m always thinking about pirates in the internet and my opinion is that only strongly promoted bands can sign deals with labels and Lithuania is too small country for kind of music that SBS plays.
And one more problem – big labels don’t want to invest in the new bands. True fans always will buy physical CD of their favourite band!
11. You're certainly not a international mainstream band, how do you judge the underground music scene?
Where? In Lithuania? Lithuania is too small country for music which plays SBS but I’m thinking that with this album we’ll reach big stages worldwide. I had a dream to release this album.
A very strong and deep dream.
If something is seriously stuck in mind and soul, a person somehow manages to make the dream come true. Despite all obstacles.
The same thing had happened to me. I’m a sorcerer…
12. Tell us a few funny anecdotes, in the past?
We had a show in one club and after first set my friend musician told me that there is the only one side of front was working. After my question the sound technician explained me - “Yes, only one side of front is working because I have only one cable from amplifier to the boxes. And in my box on stage were many cables… The sound technician escaped from the club before the show was ended… So this is the situation of sound technicians in Lithuania…
