INTERVIEW:. with the swedish metallers MINDFUEL

09:51 by Musicologo go go
We have courtesy talked with Magnus Westman of Heavy Metal band MINDFUEL

We'll post the answers as well as come to us;

1. Hi guys, tell us when you formed your group?
We formed the band in 2008 when I(Westman) laid down a vocal track for Markus.
We realised that we shared the same taste of music and influences.

2. What is the genre of your sound?
Hard to tell. We play what we play, some say it´s Power Metal and some say Heavy Metal.
It is what it is.

3. What is the source of inspiration for the lyrics? Who writes them?
I(Westman) write all lyrics. I pick inspiration from what happens in the world daily, there is so much cruelty going on.Some lyrics comes from me analyzing other people.

4. Do you think that English is the universal language now?
Absolutely

5. What are the reasons by which you decide to give your band the name "MINDFUEL"?
I(Westman) started using the name Mindfuel when I was recording songs of my own and when me and Markus started talking about a bandname I presented the name Mindfuel to him. The reason why I came up with the name Mindfuel was that it should represent the feeling it should give the listener.Fuel to the brain;)

6. Your second ALBUM "Time For A Change" will be promoted in international media, what are your expectations?
We expect that Mindfuel will be a well known name.

7. How did you decide to sign the digital record deal with DeFox's HEART OF STEEL RECORDS in Europe?
I(Westman) saw that some friends of mine, Alicate, was signed to DeFox´s HEART OF STEEL RECORDS so I gave it a try.
We were signed to Digital Media Records in New York but were laid off because they changed direction of genre.
We are happy to be signed to  DeFox´s HEART OF STEEL RECORDS, they are serious about what they´re doing.

8. To promote the record are you planning a live tour?
At the moment we´re not a touring band, we´ve had lots of requests from all over the world but we can´t do any touring for now.

9. Your new video "Time For A Change" has achieved in just two months more than 2000 views, 2 awards in Beat100's video platform, are you happy to this good result? how important is it to have a good video?
It´s absolutely awesome!! 2000 views on Youtube and over 700 views and 2 awards on Beat100, WOW!!A good video is very important, when we released our first album "In your mind" we didn´t make any video and that was a mistake.

10. I would like to have your own point of view about the poor sales of the CD's, it's caused by the internet? technological development?
or it's changed the mentality of the fans?
I´m surprised that the cd hasn´t disappeared already, it´s 2013, a technical age, people are using their cellphones for everything, can´t fit a cd in a cellphone.
Cd´s are like Vinyl, it takes a lot of space, it doesn´t fit the interiour now.

11. You're certainly not a international mainstream band, how do you judge the underground music scene?
The mainstream scene is so fucking boring,it´s overproduced.
I think the listeners are craving for underground music, music made with just a few dollars, music with true feeling.
Unfortunately alot of the metal music is overproduced too.

12. Tell us a few funny anecdotes, in the past?
Well....we are serious guys..no fun at all.....NOT!!
More than one time Markus has made a great tunes in his studio while emptying a bottle of good whiskey, before bedtime he sends it Westman who listens to it and wonder what the f..k it is!!Those tunes goes to the trashcan.
