80's legend's THEN JERICO returns

02:25 by Musicologo go go

Then Jerico returns to the stage in September with dates in Newcastle, Glascow, Liverpool, Sheffield, Birmingham, Bristol, Oxford ending in London on the 29th.
The fan-favourite 80‘s band founder Mark Shaw is accompanied by original bandmates Rob Downes, Jasper Stainthorpe, Scott Taylor and Steve Wren.

Then Jerico has collaborated with Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor, as well as fashion’s JUNMEN who shared in the band’s success in Japan in the mid-80‘s. Then Jerico got its start at the legendary New York Limelight in 1983, and hit the UK charts under labels London Records then EMI. A lyrical stance against powerful media mogul and hacking scandal’s Rupert Murdoch caused controversy for the band, resulting in their blockade. Then Jerico went underground, underwent a few transformations as Mark Shaw branched off in a solo career in the 90‘s, and is resurfacing by popular demand.

The band has fresh plans for after this tour. The tour is breaking new ground by heralding a formula in event production partnering that allows fans and the public to join in. A website has been set up where sales of merchandising, as well as rare collectibles, go towards funding indie bands. Free downloads with purchase, ethical only T-shirts using Fair Trade materials, and access to band sound checks are among the exclusive items up for grabs.

Then Jerico will be performing their greatest hits from their chart topping album, “THE BIG AREA.” Mark Shaw was interviewed on the BBC in April this year to announce the tour after succeeding in mobilizing the original band members now spread out between the UK and Spain.
